Closed Building Conditions (CBCs)
- If not maintained for 12 hours prior to placement for a 48-‐hour measurement, 25% of the results will likely reflect a false high or false low reading.
- Not only can violating CBCs cause a ventilation effect (false low) but can spike radon which can cause a false high reading.
- CBCs also include ensuring that ventilation mechanicals or other things that can increase stack effect are minimized prior to setting the monitors.
